The best grandma ever!

Well I didnt get to know my grandmother  that much because she passed out when I was very young. I remember very few things like her being very nice with me, always giving me chocolate when I went to her house. I remember she used to live in a house next to mine and every morning when she heard me living for school, she would go outside her house and blow me a kiss with her hand. Thats the only memories I have but I think are the best. I love remembering her as that shes the only person who has had that kind of details with me.

Lawmakers

If I were in a committee that proposes new laws, these are my opinions why the could or couldn't work.

Marriage vows. People shouldn't be allowed . .

* to get married until they have taken a marriage-preparation course.
* to get a divorce until they have been married for 10 years.
* to marry before tha age of 21

I dont think they have to be married for 10 years to get a divorce, thats stupid and cruel. People can realize after a year even a month that they dont like the way they are living and they should have the rights to decide what to do with there lifes whenever they want. Its not healthy to be an a marriage that doesnt work. I dont even think it is healthy to get married or to live with a partner...

I think at that age of 21 people is not mature enough even though they are having a baby I think they should wait and think what they really want for there lifes and at that age no one really knows what they want.

I also agree they should have a marriage- preparation course to see how they are going to live the rest of there life and how are they going to handle it. People make decisions without thinking of the consequences thats why there are so many divorces.

Let's go to Brazil

Brazil is South America's most influential country, an economic giant and one of the world's biggest democracies.
It is the biggest country in Latin America and is recognized for their natural attractions and one of the most famous carnivals in Rio de Janeiro. If one day you decide to visit Brazil, these are some places and things that you can visit or do.
Deffinietly you should go to the Amazon rainforest, it is one of the biggest in the world and it has one of the largest rivers too. You can enjoy the beautiful nature view while you're taking a boat trip along the river.
If you are a sports lover, the Maracanã Stadium in Rio, is the best choice for you. Don't lose the opportunity of watching a soccer game in one of the loudest and colorful stadiums in the world.-Take samba lessons! Don't be shy and shake your body at the rythm of brazil. It doesn't matter if you have never taken any dance classes before, in escola de samba you will learn everything that you need to become the best samba dancer-You must visit the Christ the redeemer statue on corcovado mountain, is one of the icons of Rio de Janeiro city.
 If you are a nightlife person, you should go to Rio or Sao Pablo. The main acts in the clubs in Rio are after midnight. However in Sao pablo has a more sophisticated style, but both of the cities offer great a unique drinking spots and a lot of fun.-You musn't lose the opportunity to enjoy of the most colorful and funniest carnival in the world.
Now,I'm sure that you're seriously thinking about going to brazil, right?Well if your answer is "yes", you must take note about some little details of what not to do in this country. . .
Don't tip waiters, it's not customary in brazil, it's include in the bill.- Don't make the "ok" sign with your hand, it's considered a very rude gesture.- Don't wear long sleeves, street clothes, or dress shoes at the beach.- Don't give handkerchiefs because they are associated with funerals- Don't wear yellow and green together. Those are the colors of the Brazilian flag.- Don't give gifts that are purple or black. Those colors are for mourning.

"Two wrongs don't make a right."

One of my favorite English proverbs is "Two wrongs don't make a right." It means when someone has done something bad to you, trying to get revenge will only make things worse.

    I like it because when I was younger and people treated me bad I would always get very angry and wanted to do bad things for the them but then I realize it only made me act the same and it was wrong. So when someone does something bad at me I always remember not to act the same and that lifes job is to take care of those persons not me.

What do your clothes say about you? Well, that I am a nice guy.
What's your favorite outfit?
A shirt, pants, a nice belt and a good pair of shoes.
What kinds of styles and colors don't you wear?
I don't like bright colors so I never use them.
What would you never wear?
Deffinietly baggy pants, I don't wanna look like a "cholo".
What's your taste in music?
I like a little bit of everything but my favorite is R&B.

EVERYTHING ABOUT PEDRO

I didnt know who was Pedro until I started studying GLION. In first semester we didnt talk that much but everytime I asked him for something he would be nice. Since then I think of Pedro as a nice person.
This semester Pedro and I got at the same english class and there's when I got to know him better. He is a very kind and respectfull person, has a lot of values and he's the kind of person that would always be there for a friend.
He has been living in mexicali his all life,he has gone to other places for vacations but he never stay too long.
He has never considered living in another country, he really likes Mexico. One of the activties he love the most is going to the gym, he is always talking about it.
Something that he always remember about his childhood is that he used to had family reunions every sunday and played soccer with his cousins, he loved to do that but now everybody grew up and go to college so he don't see them as much as he would like to. He loves electronic music and one of his favorites artist is Miguel Campbell.

WHATS POPULAR

1 Wich cars are popular right now? What kind of car would you like to own? Why?
I don't know anything about cars but I think that sport cars are always going to be the popular ones. I've always wanted to own a black vintage mercedes. They are amazing and I think I would look pretty in it. :D

2 What clothing styles are in fashion right now? Do you like the new styles as much as last year's styles?
I think everyone has there own kind of fashion but the styles  you see most in stores are very similiar at the 80s. This year styles didnt change much so I did like them.

3 Wich hairstyles are trendy now? How have they  changed over tha last couple of years? Has your own style changed?
The ombre hair is very popular by now and also girls are starting to dye there hair with spring colors. My style hasnt change that much. I've always had wavy long hair.

4 What bands are popular right now? Are there any bands that you don't hear about as much as you used to?
I dont know what bands are popular but I know what artists and the most popular right now are Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce and Jay-z. When I was younger I used to hear a lot of Vanessa Carlton and now I dont even hear one song of her. 

5 Are there any diets or kinds of food that are popular? Is your diet as healthy as it could be?
Its starting to be very popular the healthy juices that are made of many fruits and vegetables. My diet is not as healthy as I wish it was.

6 What kinds of exercise are popular?
Crossfit is very popular by now.

7 How have your personal tastes changed over the last five years?
A lot. I used to eat very bad. I couldnt eat not even one vegetable or food that was unknown for me. But as time has passed Ive been trying to teach myself to eat healthier.

8 What do you like now that you didn't like two years ago?
Sea food.

MY BLOG

It is the first time that I have a blog and that I write. I have to say I enjoyed it very much because I know how much I learned. I am definitely going to miss it and I am gratefull with my teacher for assigning us this mission. She knew we were going to be able to acomplish her tasks and I hope she is happy with the result of my classmates and I.

I found out very interesting what technology can do with our lifes, thats why I want to apply for this job.
I have a lot of experience in computers, tablets, cell phones, tv, etc. But I would like to learn more.
People have to be interesested in technology and in all the things it can do so that they could be patient at the time of learning.
I am very positive, if theres a problem I always see the best in it and immediately look for a solution. I also am very patient and tolerant.
For the next five years I will already have a lot of experience so it would be less difficult for me to manage my career.

HOW MY SMARTPHONE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE

Most of the people have smartphones and they use them to manage their lives, like me.
My smartphone is my school, computer, agenda, cell phone, ipod, and camera- my whole life in one. I don't use the computer anymore.
Because of my smartphone, I can communicate with whoever I want from all over the world and I can also do things without being at home.
The only thing that I dont like is that peole are getting very used of phones solving there lives.

GLOBAL WARMING

The things that can be done to reduce global warming are: to start reusing and recycling products, using less heat, use less hot water, and planting trees. Global warming is the direct result of adding too much carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.

AIR AND WATER POLLUTION

Air pollution: There are several evaluations that are being taken to reduce air pollution. For example the prohibition of leaded petrol to eliminate lead release from vehicle fuels and carpooling. There is also energy saving plans aimed at reducing air emissions.

Water pollution: Water pollution is being stopped in a number of ways. Large companies are no longer allowed to pour chemicals into natural water supplies, and heavy taxes have been imposed. For this reason, companies no longer pour waste without care into natural water supplies.

If you want to know some good ways to make money, here are some ideas.

1.- For summer a surfboard because I love the beach, every symmer of my life I have been going to the shore and my friends and I would put on our wetsuits and would go play with our buggy boards to the sea.

2.- For my lifestyle, a studio apartment because everytime I want to be alone, I have nowhere to go theres always people in my house.

3.- For a once in a lifetime oppotunity, a trip to Antartica because I think it would be ver interesting knowing there.

4.- For enetertainment, a large- screen TV because I enjoy very much seeing movies.

5.- For fun a telescope because I am very interested in space.

6.- For a challenge, scuba-diving lessons. Like I said before I love the sea.

Restaurant

Next semester my classmates and I will have to do a restaurant as a final proyect, so I did an analysis to found out what things people in class would want to sell. Here are three of the most interesting meals.

Fernanda said she loved hamburguers and that she knows a delicious recipe. "It's my most precious owning," she manifest.

Pedro said he couldn't live without pizza and that it would be more easy to elaborate. "Most of the people enjoy eating pizza". Melina, by the other hand said that that was very usual to sell and that we should do something different.

Analyzing behavior

Sarah's situation
Sarah found out that her boyfriend, Allan- who she had been dating for four years-had no intention of marrying her. She really thought they would get married someday.
Tehy had a huge argument, and as she was getting out of his car, she scratched the door with her keys. He called the police.

- I think Anna got very Angry and acted without thinking.
- I think when the police left they felt sad and guilty.
- No way, she shouldn't have scratched his car and he shouldn't have called the police.
- Maybe the discussion was alright but if they didn't agree on anything they should have broken up.
- They should have go home and think about what they really wanted.
- I think so, I think I would never do that even though I feel very upset.

Joes's situation
Joe moved into a new apartment a few months ago. His new neighbors played loud music late at night, and Joe had to get up early every morning for work. Joe asked his neighbors to turn the volume down, but they didn't. Finally, Joe decided to teach his neighbors a lesson, and he started to play loud music early every morning when they were trying to sleep. They no longer speak to each other.

-I think people react on what they're feeling, Joe was upset because his neighbors didn't let him sleep, so he wanted them to feel what he felt every night.
- At first he must have felt angry and powerless but when he started doing the same thing, I think he began to feel ok.
- Sure because the first time he asked nicely.
- He also could have called the police.
- Not really, I think I would have done the same thing.

Margie's situation
Margie was in a movie theater when her cell phone rang. She answered the call and talked loudly for about five minutes. The people sitting next to her asked her to be quiet, but when she continued to talk, they called the theater manager. He asked her to leave the theater. She refused and started shouting at him. Then someone in the row behing threw a box of popcorn at her.

- Because she got on the nerves of everybody.
- Very angry.
- Yes, I think calling the manager was very appropriately. And she deserved the popcorn on her.
- What they did.
- Throw more food at her.
- No, I would be very angry at that disrespectful girl

Proposal

One thing I've been proposing since the first day of school is an extra room for GLION students because we have no place to make homework or to meet after classes. Because of this, most of my classmates leave school when we have free hours. I always go to a friend's house just for an hour and I think I am only wasting my time. I also think this is a problem because once we leave school it is more difficult to want to come back so sometimes we don't.
This problem could be solved if an empty classroom could be assigned for peer meditation. We can use any extra room in the building for it.
A students living room would benefit the school in many ways.
First of all we have to tell everyone about the plan to see who wants to help doing things we need to make this possible. Then we need to ask for permission and start doing everything so that this can be finished at the end of semester.

Can you believe it?

1.- I used to believe in the easter bunny. Every year I decorated my house with alot of different candies like chocolates, bubble gum easter eggs, cotton candy bunny and in my room the "bunny" would put a basket for me to collect all of those. I loved that day I think it was my favorite.

2.- When I was like ten years old, I used to believe that if I saw a license plate with three same numbers I had to touch a red color and at the same time say " Happy encounter with..." and the name of the boy I liked and I was supposed to meet him right away. I used to do that alot, now I laugh everytime I think about about it.

3.- I think I've never had an experience with good luck. I have never won anything, not even a bubble gum.
Maybe good and bad luck doesn't exist or maybe it does for those who believe.

4.- Rare things never happen to me and I am not a superstitious person at all but after this I began to believe that maybe superstitions does exist. When my mom was pregnant of my brother I had a dream about him. I dreamt with all his physical chacaracteristics, skin color, hair color,  eye color, even the form of his nose and he turned out to be the exact way as he was at my dream.

5.- One time I was with a friend and her boyfriend at a restaurant having breakfast. While we were ordering, her boyfriend went to the bathroom and when he came back he brought with him a dozen of red flowers. I thought it was a very cute surprise but I knew my friend wasn't happy because she hates red flowers and the fact that her boyfriend didn't know would get her angry. So we looked at each other and laughed because I knew what she was thinking and she knew that. It was very funny.

6.- Two or three years ago I went with a boy I liked at a party with people that I didn't know. Because it was my first date with him I wanted to look very pretty so I went to buy a dress for the occasion. At first I was having alot of fun and I was very happy for the way that I looked but then I saw a girl with the same dress as mine, I was very surprised but at the same time angry so I started walking near the place she was sitting to see who she was and when I looked closer I realize it was my best friend! we started laughing  and got very happy.

Superstitions

- Finding a ladybug is very good luck and is a sign of good fortune coming your way.
- Open an unbrella indoors and bad luck will "rain" on you. 
- Cut your nails on Friday for woe
- Bringing a new broom into a new house when you move will give you luck.
- Putting clothes on with your left arm first brings you bad luck.
- Leave a house by the same door brings you luck.

Education

A law should be passed...
That prohibits students from quitting school before the age of 18.
I am totally in favor of this proposal, it is something that society needs to keep people on learning. Eighteen is a very young age to stop studying and kids shouldn't be able to make that kind of decisions.

To make everyone learn at least two foreign languages...
Everyone can have more chances of getting oportunities in there future if they know more than one language.
Communication is a great value that everybody needs to have and it is vital everywhere you go.

To ban examinations for students under 16...
I definetly don't agree wit this one. Students under that age are experiencing rapid growth. I think that's the age where students need to have more attention and tasks then ever to keep them very busy so that they can continue with the same discipline they been having. 

A letter to the editor..

Your article is very interesting to read. I never thought that way about cam phones but the problems you talked about are very important because it is true that people nowadays use them not only for fun.
I think the biggest problem is students taking pictures for test questions and e-mailing them to others.
I love my cam phone for the reason that it is very practical but I only use it for my own benefit.

The most important driving rules

There are a lot of rules for driving, that much that most of the peolple dont remember many of them including me. People know the basic rules, but that doesnt mean they follow them. For example, when there's a stop sign the rule is tu wait for three seconds. I think the ninety-eight percent of people just wait one to two seconds, another basic rule is the speed limit, we obviously know almost every speed limit on the country or we can imagine what could it be depending on the area, but if we are in a rush almost every person don't care about the limit and goes very fast. Another important rule that not everyone follows are the traffic lights. The rule is that when the light changes to yellow you should start slowing your speed but most of the people acelerate instead and if they dont reach the yellow light they even pass the red light.
In my personal opinion people are not used to follow the rules in my country including me. I think something should be done so that the accidents stop happening.

How to behave in class

The rignt way to behave in class is to follow the rules. Dont speak while the teacher is giving class, dont use the celphone, dont copy, do the homework, dont be late, dont fall asleep, put atention, etc. Most of the students dont follow these rules but it doesnt mean they dont try. I think the reason for them not doing all of these is beceause most of the time they dont have something to be motivated for and they get tired. In my opinion, students should put more interest in studies and look for motivation so they can outstand on everything they do and have a great future.

Life as an extovert and introvert

My natural way of being is very introvert. When I was little I couldnt do anything without my mom I was the typical shy girl who never did anything to entertain nobody, it was very funny because the only thing I wasn't shy of was dancing, I could dance everywhere at anytime and I wouldnt mind. I did that alot with my friends, I loved to make dances with them, we used to do it during recess or in my house after school.
As I grew up I began to be very extrovert, I started going to parties and I realize I enjoyed to socialize and making new friends. I started having a lot of fun dancing and laughing and my friends would always want me to go with them. Because of that I discovered that being introvert is very boring so till now I always try not to be.
So I believe I am a little of both, it depends on the situation.

A free spirit!

An interview with Edgar Guerrero in Mexicali about his very individual tastes.

How would you describe your style in clothes?
I have a very regural style, it depends on the weather. In summer I like to wear shorts, t-shirts and tennis. In winter I like to wear jackets and sweaters, my favorite jacket is a gray one I use it a lot and I love caps.

Don´t you think clothes say a lot about the kind of person you are?
Yes, I think it is a way to exprese yourself.

What would you never wear?
Flip flops, hats and accesories that call a lot of attention like chains and watches.

What's your taste in music?
I like every tipe of music excepet heavy metal.

What's your favorite outfit?
Something comfortable.

My Biggest Challenge

When I was in high school I needed to decide what career I was going to study and my friends and family used to put a lot of pressure on me asking every single day if I already new what I was going to do. 

I was very confused because I love to dance and I've always wanted to be a professional dancer and travel all over the world giving shows and dancing for people. I used to talk to my closest aunt and grandmother and they always told me that if I decided to do that I would have very few posibilities of being succesfull and that I needed to think very well of what I wanted for my future, so I used to think a lot every day since I woke up that I needed to decide if I was going to a "regular" college or a dance academy finishing highschool. I had friends in one of  the bestest universities of all my country in the city of Mexico and they always told me that I should go overthere to study because they loved it, so I got exited and started to do all the rearch about the university to see if I like it. During the searching I noticed that the school was very expensive and I got really sad but then someone told me that the university had a lot of scholarships and that I should try to audition for the dance club. I was very happy because dancing was going to help me to get into college and I knew I had to do something very big and rehearse a lot. When my teacher tought me the dance I was very concerned because it was very difficult so I began to stress a lot because I had very few time. I would practice three or four hours a day without having a break, my feet would hurt a lot and I always finished very tired, stressed and angry. I thought I was never going to be ready for that dance because I have never had one that hard. 

One day my teacher told me that I was doing very well, I didnt believed her but she insisted that I was ready. The audition day came and I was very nervous but I knew that I could do it, so I did my best and I got the scholarship, I was very happy because I still was going to dance everyday to keep my shcolarship, it was the best thing that had happened to me. 

This is the biggest challenge that I've had till now, I wonder what my next challenges will be...

The reason I'm in GLION

In this spot I am going to talk about why I chose GLION as my career.
First of all I want to say that my favorite class of all times has been math and because of that I started to have curiosity in the career of administration, math was a class that I was very good at and that I like the most. When I gratuated from highschool I was very interested in administration so I started studying it in a another city, but the truth is I didn't like it because I thought it was boring, that it needed something else but I didn't know what was that thing until my best friend told me she was going to study GLION and said some great stuff about it, I felt like it was just what I needed. I would have math, hospitality and some cooking lessons! of course I got interested and very exited. So lets see what this career has to offer.
